Project:
Fundraising campaign website for Karen Brodie Designs
November 2025 — present
This website is the result of my latest collaboration with my mother, Karen Brodie of Karen Brodie Designs, to create the branding and narrative of possibly the biggest project of her lifetime: bringing the Stations of the Cross — a spiritual journey that follows Jesus Christ’s steps from condemnation to the tomb — to life in 14 life-size fabric banners for an exhibition in Vancouver, BC.
It is difficult to express the magnitude of this project and the complex artistry and mastery that it demonstrates, and so navigating clear messaging throughout both this website and other social media platforms was critical in order to raise funds for this art to be created. It was not a typical fundraising campaign in that we couldn’t offer tax receipts, and opted out of crowdfunding platforms entirely. Therefore, managing the marketing and technical side of this campaign as well as the creative and personable side of it was a new learning curve for both of us.
The branding and design of this website reflects the colours of Lent, which surrounds Easter and the Stations of the Cross timeline, as well as the “sweeping lines” that are depicted in Karen Brodie’s additional fabric art. We wanted this website to feel organic, clean, and profound — all with the intention of creating powerful imagery and messages that would prompt financial support from admirers.
As of December 2025, over $25,000 has been raised towards this project, most of which goes to the Stations of the Cross Team, and also materials and technical expenses for this ongoing project.
