CASE STUDY:
Treasures and Traditions
Capturing interest and ticket sales for Okanagan Young Voices Society’s annual Christmas choir concert with engaging visuals, both in static and dynamic forms.
Graphic Design / Videography and Editing / Social Media Marketing
In October 2025, Okanagan Young Voices Society (formerly Okanagan Children’s & Youth Choir) approached me with a request to design the poster for their upcoming Christmas concert, “Treasures and Traditions.”
This year, their concert would take place in a new venue. Concerned about engagement and ticket traffic, they opted to also have me create video elements to further promote the materials from the choirs in anticipation of the show.
Once the concept for the poster was completed, my job was then to format it for different advertising channels (Facebook events, TicketOwl webpage, Facebook ads, thumbnails for Reels)
All Choirs
Making the story accessible
OYVS brought me up to Kelowna to record one of their November rehearsals, resulting in intimate behind-the-scenes footage that I compiled into 3 short docu-style narrative clips.
I edited these clips to showcase the individual levels of the choir (children's, youth, older youth) and the skills they were practicing. I also created one clip to showcase all of the choirs as one body of creative youth.
This emphasized the group efforts of all choirs working together to create ONE amazing show for all to watch. But it also demonstrated the variability and dynamic levels of the singers in their designated groups, which represents the style and community values of the Society as a whole.

The videos were formatted in horizontal format for Facebook release, and then duplicated and formatted for vertical release on Reels. Captions are included in each video to make them accessible.

Results and engagement
Between November 22nd and December 10th, 2025, the combined content created an outreach of 5.4K views between Facebook and Instagram, and a combination of over 325 new interactions, and 24 new followers.
OYVS sold just under 350 tickets in a venue that seats 500 (with 100 chairs reserved for the singers) and had a successful winter concert.
